Our Story

For many years, faithful individuals prayed for a Spirit-filled church to be established in Pelican Rapids. In answer to those prayers, God began stirring the hearts of Justin and Allison Fure, calling them to plant what would become Thrive Church.

In 2021, the Fure family took a step of faith and moved to Pelican Rapids. They purchased a home with a simple prayer: that God would use it to help establish a church in the community. What began as Bible studies around their dining room table soon grew into something more.

As God continued to open doors, Thrive Church began gathering weekly at an event center just outside of town. The congregation later moved into a rented space within the city of Pelican Rapids. Not long afterward, God provided an incredible opportunity for Thrive Church to purchase the very building they had been renting, establishing a permanent home for the growing church family.

From the beginning, Thrive Church has been about more than a building or a Sunday gathering. Its mission has been to help people encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, and experience the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Through every season, God has faithfully guided the church, laying a strong foundation for generations to come.

In 2024, God began preparing the way for a new season of leadership. In 2026, after five years of planting and leading Thrive Church, Justin and Allison Fure transitioned leadership to Interim Pastor Brad Godding, marking a new chapter in the church’s story.

As we look to the future, our prayer remains the same: that Thrive Church will continue to be a Spirit-filled, Christ-centered presence in Pelican Rapids for the next 100 years and beyond.
